Calcium Channel Activator

1-Myristyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-PA (1-Myristyl LPA) is a lysophosphatidic acid derivative. 1-Myristyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-PA can increase intracellular calcium concentration in HEL cells.

PDDHV is a calcium absorption inducer and may achieve 45Ca²⁺ influx by stimulating vanillic acid receptor VR1. PDDHV induces 45Ca²⁺ uptake (EC₅₀: 70 nM) in rat dorsal root ganglion neurons (expressing native vanilloid receptors) and calcium mobilization (EC₅₀: 125 nM) in VR1-transfected CHO cells. PDDHV also inhibits [3H]-resiniferatoxin (RTX) binding to the dorsal root ganglion membrane in rats.

Liguzinediol is a protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) inhibitor that enhances the activity of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺-ATPase (SERCA2a). Liguzinediol reduces the dephosphorylation level of phospholamban and increases the phosphorylation levels of phospholamban at serine-16 and threonine-17 sites. Liguzinediol exerts positive inotropic effects in rat hearts both in vivo and in vitro, and reverses caffeine-induced decrease in myocardial contractility in isolated rat hearts. Liguzinediol can be used for the research of heart failure.

Rp-8-Br-cGMPS (Rp-8-bromo-Cyclic GMPS) sodium salt is a potent Ca²⁺-ATPase activator. Rp-8-Br-cGMPS is also an agonist of the rod CNG channel and an inhibitor of PKG. Rp-8-Br-cGMPS sodium salt mediates cytosolic Ca²⁺ reduction by activating Ca²⁺-ATPase and subsequently removing Ca²⁺ from the cell.
